Trumbull Town Council Passes Tax Deferment Program

Tax payments can be deferred up to three months without penalty for residents and businesses.

TRUMBULL, CT — The Town Council approved a three-month deferment on local taxes for all residents and businesses.

The deferment applies to April 1 real estate tax and sew assessments, May 1 sewer use fees and July 1 real estate taxes, sewer assessments, personal property tax and motor vehicle tax payments.

The deferment doesn't apply to homeowners who use bank escrow accounts to pay taxes, according to the Trumbull Times. Landlords who wish to be included will need to file an eligibility application that shows they are giving rent relief to qualifying tenants.
