Trumbull Woman Charged with Assaulting Police Officer

The charge came after a domestic incident, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumbull woman was charged with assault on a police officer after police responded to investigate a domestic incident, police said.

Police responded to a Trumbull residence on Jan. 11 on a report of a verbal argument. Paula Novak, 52, and her brother Richard Novak, 50, were in a loud verbal dispute at their mother's house, police said.

Each was charged with disorderly conduct.

During the incident Paula grabbed an officer by the arm and refused to let him go. Officers eventually pried her off and handcuffed her. She was additionally charged with assault on a police officer and interfering with police.
