Trumbull Woman Wins Regional Opera Audition
She won a cash prize and will advance to another competition.
A Trumbull woman won first prize at the 57th annual New England Regional Finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
Mezzo-soprano Allegra De Vita, 26, won a $6,000 prize and will join winners from 13 other regions throughout the United States, according to the Trumbull Times.
She has degrees from Sacred Heart University and Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
