On Tuesday, May 28th, US Representative Jim Himes visited Ms. Boland's AP Government class to congratulate them on their 8th place finish at the We the People National Finals. THS Honors Political Systems and Honors Economic Systems also joined in the conversation. The students learned about the role of Rep Himes in our government and had discussions with the Representative about current issues of today like gun control, gay marriage, and the aftermath of the fiscal cliff. Afterwards, the students talked briefly with the representative about their trip to Washington DC and competing on Capitol Hill for the Top Ten Hearings.
