Woman Attempts To Stab Ex-Boyfriend At Trumbull Mall: PD
Police said a Bridgeport woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to stab her ex-boyfriend at the Trumbull Mall.

TRUMBULL, CT — Police said a Bridgeport woman was arrested last week after allegedly attempting to stab her ex-boyfriend at the Trumbull Mall.
According to a news release, police said 20-year-old Janaya Bennett arrived at the victim’s store on Thursday, May 31, as he was opening for the day. Police said the victim told Bennett to leave, and she threatened to kill him.

Police said the victim was able to grab the knife away from her, but the accused grabbed a pair of scissors from a nearby counter and lunged toward him again. A second struggle ensued, with the accused attempting to choke the victim as they fought over the scissors, according to police.

Police said the victim eventually wrestled the scissors away and the accused fled the store.
While officers were on the scene, the accused returned to the store and was taken into custody. Police said the accused admitted her intentions of attacking the ex-boyfriend to police.
Police said the accused was charged with violation of a protective order, criminal attempt at assault, threatening and breach of peace.
