2 Charged After Vernon Knife Incident: Report
2 Vernon men are accused of threatening another resident with knives, police said.

VERNON, CT — Two men were arrested late Saturday night after an incident with knives in the Rockville section of Vernon, police said.
Both Vernon men, 24-year-old Shawn Owens, who lives at 75 Union Street, and 23-year-old Stephen Lamonde, who is listed as homeless but a frequenter of Vernon, were held over the weekend on respective $25,000 bonds with Tuesday court dates, according to a report. They were charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. Owens was also charged with second-degree attempted assault and Lamonde with interfering with an officer, records show.
The arrests began with a complaint at 10:13 p.m. from 77 High Street, police said. A resident complained about tires being slashed and being threatened by Lamont and Owens with knives, according to a report.

Lamonde was located near Rockville General Hospital and taken into custody after a foot chase, according to a report. Owens was found at his home and arrested, police said. He was also wanted for an incident during which he allegedly threatened someone with a gun and was charged with first-degree threatening, according to a report.
