Another $25 Million In Crumbling Foundation Aid On Commission Agenda
More crumbling foundation assistance is likely on the way.

HARTFORD, CT – Another $25 million is likely to be allocated by the State Bond Commission next week to the state’s Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund, state Sen. Jeff Gordon said Friday.
Gordon (R-Woodstock) is a member of the legislature’s Appropriations Committee, Crumbling Foundations Caucus, and a non-voting member of the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Co.
The money will be funneled through the CFSIC, the state's captive insurer for crumbling foundations claims.

"This is more great news for the thousands of families and businesses affected in northeast Connecticut," Gordon said. "This week, we learned that the program has assisted over 800 families to date. This funding will sustain the Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund into the future to ensure that the remainder of those affected are made whole. As a member of our Crumbling Foundations Caucus, I'll continue to support families and businesses affected in our region."
The program was originally scheduled to expire in 2022. Gordon offered legislation during the 2023 legislative session to fund CFSIC into the future through additional state bonding because of the anticipated thousands of remaining home and business-owner claims.
