• Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its spring 2019 Dean's List for full-time and part-time students. Honorees from Vernon are Kristina Acuna, who majors in General Studies; Dylan Andrews, who majors in Health Sciences; Sarah Banks, who majors in Social Work; Grace Bassick, who majors in Pre-Elementary Education and English; Brian Gonzalez, who majors in Computer Science and Mathematics; Stephen Hatch, who majors in English; Kylie Heavisides, who majors in Psychology; Gloryanna Hockenberry, who majors in Health Sciences.; Mitchell Karr, who majors in Biology; Peyton Moore, who majors in Mathematics; Deanna Pellegrino, who majors in English; Tegan Ruschmeier, who majors in Pre-Elementary Education and English; Mark Sofia, who majors in Accounting; Michelle Tedford, who majors in English; Cheyenne West, who majors in History; Samantha Westwood, who majors in Communication; and Hanna Zammarieh, who majors in Theatre. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must be in good academic standing and obtain a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Eastern Connecticut State University's economics department held its annual Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society for Economics induction on April 17. Among the inductees was Craig Lauzon of Vernon, who majors in Business Administration and Finance. Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world's largest academic honor societies. It was established in 1963 through the merger of two honor societies, Omicron Delta Gamma and Omicron Chi Epsilon.

Goodwin College, East Hartford CT

• The following students from Vernon earned a place on Goodwin College's President's List for the spring 2019 session. The list includes 353 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Muhlenberg College, Allentown PA

• Muhlenberg College celebrated its 171st Commencement on May 19, 2019. During the ceremony, which was held on the College Green, 502 students were awarded their undergraduate degrees. Madison Baranoski of Vernon graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Women's and Gender Studies.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Vernon have been named to the Dean's List for spring 2019: Erik Kadikis, Izabella Lachcik, Tanner Bosse, Tatiana Dimovski, Jean-Luc Dube, Renee Leighton, Haley Mistretta and Joseph Santiago-Campos.

University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford CT
