Nestled into the mountains of Pittsfield, Vermont, there is a small farm owned by the owner of Spartan Race. This farm is home to beautiful weddings and some of the most challenging events in the country. This summer a Vernon man will make his 3nd attempt to conquer one of those races, the Spartan Summer Death Race! Its a race like no other put on by Spartan Race/Peak Races and earning the coveted Skull trophy has become a target goal for many, but accomplished by few.
This is the 2nd Summer Death Race for Lambert. The first go round he lasted 35 hours before being voted out along with 17 others.
"we failed a task and were given a chance to buy back in with 8 consecutive Murph workouts and 4 trips up and down the mountain, 1 mile up and back with 1000' of elevation."

Although Lambert and the others completed the buy in it was up to the other contestants to allow them to stay in the race or cut the competition. They chose to narrow the field and voted 18 of us out. When asked if he would have made the same choice he said, "I dont think I would have. Many of the participants are friends and just knowing what they have invested as far as time, training, buying equipment, lodging etc. theres no way I would make the same choice."
The Summer Death Race can be 60 to 70+ hours in the mountains of VT. The race is a vicious combination of mental, physical, and psychological challenges that test all of your limits. These challenges could include anything and everything. From searching the infamous spring fed, freezing cold Beaver Pond for your start bib, to setting a world record for crawling under barbed wire for 12 hours.

Why would any one subject themselves to such torture? Nathan has done these type of races before, he even attempted the Winter Death Race this past February.
"I do these events to push my limits. Everytime I do an event I find a new threshold. Whether its a mental boundary or physical. However the cold was an absolute game changer last winter".
