Enjoy History and Nature at Valley Falls Museum

Heritage Center Opens June 8

When the Valley Falls Heritage Center in Vernon opens for its second season, we invite you visit the museum and its eight acres for the first time, or stop by for a return visit. Opening day hours are 1-4 pm on Saturday, June 8. It is also CT Open House Day, and in celebration, visitors receive a free packet of flower seeds and Bolton beekeeper John Maston will talk about hives and honey. Honey has been harvested from the hives at Valley Falls Farm for many years. In addition, the Friends of Valley Falls will have T-shirts, notecards and posters for sale, with proceeds going to support the non-profit Farm and Heritage Center (cash or check, please). In addition to a beautiful setting, the museum provides a look at how life was lived at Valley Falls in the early to mid-1900s. With 23 interpretive panels and six farm buildings filled with vintage items, the Heritage Center is fun for all ages. New this year, a guided tour will be offered from 2-3 pm. Visitors can take this, or use the walking guide to take a self-guided tour.
