Gap Payments Now Part Of Connecticut Crumbling Foundation Aid
A new program has been introduced to aid homeowners affected by the crumbling foundation crisis in Connecticut.

NORTH CENTRAL, CT — The Capitol Region Council of Governments has opened up a program through which low- and moderate-income families facing the crumbling foundation crisis can apply for additional remediation assistance.
U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, CRCOG, the Connecticut Foundations Solutions Indemnity Corporation and the Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments this week launched the new Crumbling Foundation Remediation and Restoration program to help low- and moderate-income homeowners "access financial assistance to repair damages caused by crumbling foundations."
The money comes from a $2 million Community Project Funding request submitted to Courtney in 2022 by CRCOG.
The money will be used to help homeowners impacted by the pyrrhotite crisis cover costs not covered by CFSIC funds, officials said.
