Good Friday Prompts Change In Vernon Trash And Recycling Schedule

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Friday, April 15, in observance of Good Friday.

Trash and recycling will not be collected on that day, but will be collected instead on Monday, April 18, along with that day's collection.

Trash and recycling carts should be out to the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day.

Excess trash and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station year-round at no charge to Vernon residents.

The normal hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m, to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Easter Sunday — April 17, officials said.
