Heritage Center at Valley Falls Open for Museum Tours

Have you ever wondered about that giant bell located on the hilltop of Valley Falls Farm? Or have you wanted to peek inside the big red barn or that majestic white stable on this six-acre property located on Valley Falls Road in Vernon? This Sunday, July 28, the Valley Falls Farm and Heritage Center is open 1-4 pm, with six buildings filled with historical items and information that tell the story of the people who lived there. New this summer: a guided tour from 2-3 pm and refurbished picnic tables at the stable for those wanting to pack a lunch, read a book, or just enjoy the scenic view. In addition to the barn and stable, check out the three-room root cellar built into the ground, an icehouse with amazing stone walls, and the piggery with hatchways for the kids to explore. Free admission; park at the red barn welcome center, 345 Valley Falls Rd., Vernon.
