Holiday Trash/Recycling Schedule Posted In Vernon

VERNON, CT — Officials in Vernon have released the holiday period trash and recycling schedule.

The Vernon Department of Public Works be closed on Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day and on Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. Trash and recycling will not be collected on those days but instead will be collected on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, respectively, along with the regular collections on those days.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Dec. 25 and again on Jan. 1. It is normally open Wednesdays.

Those weeks, it will be open during its regular hours of operation on Saturdays from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from Noon to 4 p.m. Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station, free of charge, year-round.
