Ice Flies off Truck, Hits Bus on I-84 in Vernon

State police have released details of a highway accident involving ice.

VERNON, CT — What state police are describing as "a large sheet" of ice flew off the roof of a truck and hit a coach bus

The incident took place at 10:59 a.m. Saturday on Interstate-84 westbound just prior to Exit 66, according to a crash report. The report was available at the state police Troop C barracks Monday.

The listed owner of the bus is the Cavalier Coach Co. out of Boston. The truck is registered to Carlisle Carriers Corp. of Pennsylvania, according to a crash report.

The ice hit the front end of the bus, according to a crash report.

No injuries were reported. Police did not say how many people were on the bus.
