Man Accused of Beating Up Woman, Smashing Wall at Vernon Soup Kitchen
Police received several 911 calls about the tirade, according to reports.

VERNON, CT — A man is accused to beating up a woman, then punching a hole in the wall at the local soup kitchen.
The incidents involving John Creed took place on Monday, police reports indicate. The soup kitchen is located at 15 Prospect St. Creed, 24, lives near the soup kitchen at 55 School St., according to police records.
Police responded to several 911 calls at 3:42 p.m. on Monday about Creed "attacking" a woman at the soup kitchen, according to reports. Police determined he pushed and choked a woman and also smashed her cell phone, according to reports. He also scuffled with others, according to a report.

For that, he was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, according to reports.
Creed also punched a hole in the wall inside the soup kitchen office and was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass for the outburst, according to police reports.

He appeared before a judge the following day and had his case continued to July 13, according to court records. He was released on respective bonds of $1,000 and $2,000, court records indicate.
