Man Arrested Twice on Same Day in Vernon
The man was nabbed for two separate incidents within hours, police said.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police arrested a Waterbury man twice on Saturday for incidents at a supermarket and in the streets of the Rockville section of town, police said.
The Saturday saga of 26-year-old Thomas Crawford began at 4:22 p.m., when the security staff at the Pitkin Road Stop and Shop called Vernon police about someone trying to take 10 cans of Axe body spray, a 12-pack of Red Bull energy drinks and a bag of mozzerella cheese and hide them in a backpack, police said.
The man was later identified as Crawford.

The items had a total value of $79.35 and his bond for the sixth-degree larceny charge was $1,500 police said.
At 11:46 p.m., Crawford took someone's car on Ward Street in town and was charged with the use of a motor vehicle without permission. The bond for that case is $5,000, police said. The owner of the car called police and the cops followed him to the home when he turned onto Ward Street, according to an arrest report.
