Man Charged In Vernon After Violent Incident In Front Of Kids
A man was charged in Vernon after a violent incident witnessed by children, according to a warrant.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police said they have made an arrest in a violent incident in February on Prospect Street.
Jose Crucetts, 38, was picked up by New Britain police on May 10 on a warrant, according to a report. He had moved to New Britain from Vernon, according to police records.
He was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation, according to a warrant.

Crucetts was held over the weekend on a $30,000 bond and was to appear in court Monday, according to records.
According to a warrant, the complaint was not only made by the listed victim — a woman with whom Crucetts had two children — but also by "several" state Department of Children and Families staffers who came to the police department lobby in March.

A dispute over cleaning turned violent, according to a warrant.
Crucetts is accused of throwing the woman onto a bed and choking her while pinning her down by placing his forearms and elbows on her chest — next to the the children — according to a warrant. He is also accused of taking the woman's phone and locking her and the children inside the residence, according to a warrant.
The woman was nearly passed out as the children pleaded with him to stop, according to a warrant.
He also threw a kid's inhaler at the woman, according to a report.
