MLK Day Prompts Trash Schedule Changes In Vernon

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Trash and recycling will not be collected on that day but instead will be collected the following day on Tuesday, Jan. 21, along with that day's regular collection.

Excess refuse and recycling mayalways be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station free of charge, year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 19.
