Mom Charged After Children Found Wandering At Busy Vernon Plaza
A Stamford mom was charged after 2 children were found alone at a busy shopping plaza in Vernon, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Stamford woman was arrested after her children were found wandering alone at a busy retail plaza in Vernon on Sunday night, police said.
Shea Danain Osborn, 40, of Stamford, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a child, according to a report. She was held overnight on a $25,000 bond and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Monday, police said.
At about 7 p.m. Sunday, Vernon police received a call from someone at the Denny's restaurant at ther Tri-City Plaza indicating that "two small children" were found alone. The children told officers thay crossed "a busy road," according to police. The plaza is at the intersection of state routes 83, 30 and Interstate-84.

Police managed to locate the father of the children, who indicated their mother — Osborn — was supposed to have dropped them off at a relative's home. The children were unharmed and were released to the custody of their father, according to a report.
Osborn was then located at the Holiday Inn Express, which sits across a side street from the plaza, Kelly Road, according to a report. The report noted she was "extremely intoxicated and sleeping" when officers found her.
