Mothers Day Dash Now in Its 39th Year

The 5K race starts and ends at Henry Park.

A Vernon athletic and social tradition will continue on Sunday with the 39th-annual running of the Mothers Day Dash.

The start and finish of the 5K event will be at Henry Park, 120 South St.

The race features 17 different age divisions and a special mother-daughter, mother-son division. The top three finishers in each division will receive prizes.

In addition to the main race, there will also be a special children’s race.

A raffle will take place for all runners that stay for the awards ceremony.

Live family entertainment will be provided throughout the race.

Water, bagels and fruit will be available to the runners.

Race proceeds will benefit the Morrin Education Foundation, the Vernon Teen Center, the Police Explorers and the Robert J. Bonadies Scholarship Fund at Rockville High School.

From Henry Park, the course follows South Street and then Grove Street. Runners then hit Center street, take left onto East, a left onto Hale, a left onto Lewis and then head to White Street, take a left back onto South and run back to the park.
