Vernon Police Dog Makes Quick Work Of Fleeing Driver After Crash
A driver first ran stop sign, then ran from the cops, an incident report shows.
VERNON, CT — A driver's attempt to hide from police after a crash in Vernon was short-lived, thanks to a police dog, an incident report shows.
Police on Monday made a report on the June 16 incident available.
At 9:21 that night, officers were dispatched to an accident on Trout Stream Drive, according to an incident report.

A car had run through a stop sign and crashed. The driver, later identified as a 37-year-old Glastonbury Man, fled the scene toward a wooded area near Tumble Brook Drive, according to an incident report.
A police dog track ensued and the man was taken into custody.

For abandoning the car, the driver was charged with unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle and evading responsibility. For fleeing, he was charged with interfering with police. He was also charged with failure to obey a stop sign and reckless driving, records show.
