'Network Issue' Knocks Out Public Phone Systems In Vernon
911 was working in Vernon Thursday morning, but other public phone systems were down for several hours, police said.

VERNON, CT — What police are describing as a "network issue" knocked out most of the municipal and educational phone systems in Vernon for most of Thursday morning.
The 911 emergency system was working the entire time, according to Vernon Police Department Spokesman Lt. William Meier.
Town offices, Vernon schools, and the routine police systems were all non-functioning, Meier said.
