Join the Friends of Valley Falls for a weekend of nature and history on Oct. 17-18. On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Northern CT Land Trust and the Friends will host a 90-minute hike to Echo Ridge at Valley Falls Park, followed by cider and refreshments at the Heritage Center and Museum. Hike led by Karl Hasel starts at 1 pm; refreshments and museum tour at 2:30 pm. Museum tour includes six historical buildings that once served as a gentleman’s farm. Buildings filled with items found on the property that tell the story of families once living on the farm. Park located at 300 Valley Falls Rd. Vernon; Heritage Center at 345 Valley Falls Rd.
On Sunday, Oct. 18, Valley Falls Farm and Heritage Center will hold its last open house of the season from 1-4 pm with free self-tours of the museum and a guided tour from 2-3 pm. All events are free of charge.
