• Vernon resident identified as 18-year-old who died after falling into Cape Cod pond, officials say (ctpost.com) — An 18-year-old Vernon resident, Abdullah Naveed, has been identified as the person who died after falling into Jenkins Pond in Falmouth, Massachusetts while paddleboarding earlier this week. Emergency crews pulled him from the water and attempted life-saving measures, but he was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital as Massachusetts authorities continue investigating.
