VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us to Wednesday at about 1 p.m. atop Fox Hill.

There, at the base of the tower, the fireworks for the annual July in the Sky were being assembled. A private contractor delivers and assembles them and a licensed supervisor is in charge of the show.

Vernon public works, police and fire officials are on hand at all times.
