TOLLAND, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series is actually from the Tolland Fire Department.
It takes us to Tolland firefighters lending a hand in Vernon a half century ago this week.
Shown in the photo are Tolland firefighters pumping water from a hydrant on Union Street in the Rockville section of Vernon using Tank 40.

The water was being supplied to the scene of a house fire on Village Street in Rockville on March 6 1972.
