VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us on a drive along Route 30 on Sept. 27, 1969.

The old Atlantic filling station could be seen on the right as one traveled west.

The picture is featured in the book, "Looking Back ... Historic Images of North Central Connectcut." Trouble is, the caption wasn't too specific on exactly where on Route 3o the station sat.
