Picture Vernon: A Quiet Day By The Waterfall

VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us to a corner of the Rockville section of town and a waterfall tucked in between a building rich in history and the region's primary reservoir.

The waterfall's source is the Shenipsit Lake reservoir and the waterfall runs behind what is now the Loom City Lofts apartment complex.

The building used to house the Roosevelt Mill back in the Victorian Era textile heyday in Vernon. The old smokestack from the mill is visible in the background.
