Police: Woman Sexually Assaulted in Vernon Thursday, Alleged Perp Captured
The alleged assault happened on High Street Thursday morning.
Vernon Police arrested a local man who is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who he knows Thursday.
Police were summoned to a High Street residence at 10:19 a.m. Thursday, said Lt. William Meier, police spokesman.
The victim told police she had been forcibly sexually assaulted by a man she knows. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Rockville General Hospital.

Police located the suspect, identified as Eric Allen, 25, of Village Street in Vernon on Village Street.

Allen was charged with first-degree sexual assault, third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, interfering with a 911 call, unlawful restraint and breach of peace. He was charged under domestic violence laws due to his relationship with the victim.
He was held on a $200,000 bond. He also had an outstanding warrant for second-degree failure to appear, which had an additional $25,000 bond.
