VERNON, CT — A New York City man who police said repeatedly ignored a protective order in Vernon has been arrested, police said.

Shawn Curtis McCoy, 45, was charged with six counts of violating the protective order in all, records show.

Curtis was taken into custody on Feb. 17 after an officer noticed him sitting on a bench at Talcottville Park, according to an arrest report. The officer was aware of an outstanding warrant on Curtis, police said. At first, Curtis gave police a false name, but two New York-issued IDs were located on Curtis, according to an arrest report.
