State Signs Off On $6.8 Million For Rehab At Vernon Housing Complex

VERNON, CT — The Connecticut Department of Housing and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority Wednesday announced the signing of financing agreements for the renovations project at the Grove Court housing complex in Vernon.

Grove Court is located at 55 Grove St. in Vernon and is owned by the Vernon Housing Authority and is part of the State-Sponsored Housing Portfolio.

It consists of seven buildings and 54-units for seniors.

Grove Court is slated to receive $6.8 million in grant funding from the DOH.

A rehab project currently on the books includes site work improvements, extensive repair or replacement of roofs and siding, and upgrades to the interior and exterior lighting, flooring, kitchens and bathrooms.

The scope also includes the installation of an emergency generator for the community room as well as ADA conversion of six units, state officials said.
