Storm Prompts Changes To Vernon Transfer Station Schedule
A parking ban is also in effect in Vernon.
VERNON, CT — The potential for heavy snowfall Saturday has prompted Vernon officials to close the local transfer station for Saturday.
It could also be closed Sunday, officials said.
It will be open the normal hours of operation on Feb. 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Feb. 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Feb. 6, from noon to 4 p.m.

The town of Vernon is imposing a parking ban on all public streets from 11 p.m. on Jan. 28, until 6 p.m. on Jan. 30, police said.
Police said violators are subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
