Teen Caught Doing 120 MPH on Highway Through Vernon

He is facing multiple charges, state police said.

VERNON, CT — A teen is facing four criminal charges after being caught going 120 mph on a stretch of Interstate-84 on Thursday, state police said.

At 12:35 a.m. Thursday, a trooper was in the midst of a motor vehicle enforcement detail when he noticed a light-colored sedan traveling at a high rate of speed in the extreme left-hand lane on the eastbound side near Exit 63, according to an arrest report.

The car topped a speed of 120 mph, state police said.

The car was pulled over and the driver, 19-year-old Jonathan Forsyth, of Trumbull, was charged with reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, failure to drive in the proper lane and failing to carry a license, according to an arrest report.

He is due in court on May 17, state police said.
