Teen Charged With Witness Intimidation In Vernon Stabbing Case
Vernon cops on Monday arrested several juveniles in separate brawling cases.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police on Monday night arrested a local teen for trying to intimidate a witness in last Friday's stabbing and bat attack after a Rockville High School football game. Also Monday, two more underage people were charged in a separate knife incident less than a week earlier.
At 6 p.m. Monday, officers took into custody a 15-year-old Vernon resident who is accused of threatening a witness who gave police information related to the postgame stabbing and bat assault, according to a report. It is alleged that the youth sent witness messages using the SnapChat application threatening "bodily harm."
The youth was being detained in Hartford Juvenile Detention facility and was to be presented in Rockville Juvenile Court on Tuesday to answer charges that include intimidating a witness, threatening and breach of peace, according to a report.

Village Street Arrests
Also on Monday evening, Vernon police charged two more juveniles with their involvement in a fight on Sept. 9 on Village Street. During the incident, it is alleged that a third juvenile had a knife and it is believed he may have intended to stab another youth, police said. The juvenile with the knife was arrested that evening and referred to juvenile authorities.
The two others have been charged with breach of Peace for their involvement and were released on a juvenile summons to their parents, police said. The identities of the juveniles are not being released due to their age, police said.
The cases remain active investigations and additional arrests are possible, police said. Anyone with information on them can call Vernon police at 860-872-9126. Vernon Police are continuing to work closely with Vernon School officials on the matters.
