Thoughts of the non-voters

Frustrations

Seeing this world capsize under the stress of political nonsense is frustrating. Especially when you add in the fact that we, as non-voters, have absolutely no power in this madness.
Even the actual voters of America have barely any say in who becomes their next President, thanks to the Electoral College and our not-so-democratic Republic. We’re convinced that every vote counts towards something. And yet, superdelegates steal our voice.
It is frustrating to see how blind youth is to the actual ways our government works simply because no one has ever told them differently. It is a frustration to watch teenagers insulted because of the political alignment of a parent of guardian. It is a frustration to watch this country become so consumed by itself that it isn’t a matter of who’s going to do their job best, but a decision of Who won’t mess up the worst.
It is a frustration to watch a man stand at a podium and utter such irrevocable and disgusting words against other human beings. It is a frustration to know that half of our country worships him.
It is a frustration that is hard to ignore, when this prideful country is the only home I have ever known.
