Valley Falls Heritage Center

The Valley Falls Heritage Center in Vernon will be open 1-4 pm Sunday, August 20 and 27. Located at 345 Valley Falls Road, the Heritage Center is part of an eight-acre farm that includes a historic stable, dairy barn, root cellar and three additional unique buildings. Interpretive information panels, tools and household items tell the story of the farm, its former owners and the Valley Falls area. Most items on display are original to the property, including sleds, bells, farm equipment, and even a vintage juke box. Park in the lot where the Red Barn is located or at Valley Falls Park and walk the short hillside path to the barn. The Center will also be open 1-3 pm September 10 for its popular Artists Day. Artists will set up their easels at the farm and the public is welcome to watch them paint scenic landscapes, listen to local musicians play from the historic barn, and attend a talk given by Bolton resident and artist Dorothy Hall. The event is free, and the Heritage Center will be open for tours during this time.
