Vernon Man to Attempt the Spartan Winter Death Race!

Right in the middle of the mountains in Pittsfield, Vermont, there is a an unassuming farm that normally hosts beautiful weddings. The owner of this farm is also the owner of Spartan Race, so it is only fitting this farm also hosts some of the most challenginging events in the country. This winter a Vernon man will attempt to conquer one of those races, the Spartan Winter Death Race! Its a race like no other put on by Spartan Race/Peak Races and earning the coveted Skull trophy has become a target goal for many, but accomplished by few.

This year Nathan Lambert will attempt to finish certainly one of the hardest races he's ever tried, the Spartan Winter Death Race. The Winter Death Race can be 40+ hours in the freezing cold mountains of VT. The race is a vicious combination of mental, physical, and psychological challenges that test all of your limits. These challenges could include anything and everything. From searching for a ping pong ball with your name on it buried in a huge field of fresh snow to submerging in the infamous frozen "Beaver Pond" for specified amounts of time in freezing cold temperatures. This race is the frozen version of the Summer Death Race held in July and both are the absolute Peak of endurance events.

Why would any one subject themselves to such torture? Nathan has done these type of races before but never in the winter.

"I do these events to push my limits. Everytime I do an event I find a new threshold. Whether its a mental boundary or physical. However the cold is an absolute game changer but oddly I look forward to the challenge"

How does he plan to defeat the cold and avoid frostbite or hypothermia? He says, "I am from the North East and I'm no stranger to the cold. I grew up skiing and snomobiling in VT so I have a basic understanding of whats needed to stay warm, or atleast I think I do. I know layering clothing is important so I will be able to shed and reapply clothes as neccesary. These races find a way to expose every and any vulnerability so I will see how it goes."

Nathan has previously conquered many endurance events and races before but unfortunately his attempt at the last Summer Death Race fell short. He and 17 0ther competitors failed to finish a challenge in the specified time.

"The ones who finished were able to move on but the rest of us who didn't were presented an oppurtunity to buy back in the race by finishing a new set of challenges"

Nathan and the rest finished the required new set of challenges in time but after 34 hours he was ultimatly voted out along with the 17 others.

"the 8 remaing racers were allowed to vote on our fate and took the opportunity to improve their chances by getting rid of the competition".

As they say, "its the motherfu$#!@ Death Race!"
