Vernon Obituary: Diane Ashe, 63

Camping enthusiast was a longtime Girl Scout troop leader.

Diane J. (Michaud) Ashe, 63, wife of Thomas B. Ashe of Rockville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015.

She was born in Oakland, California to Jack and Donna (Hager) Michaud. She had lived in Connecticut for the last 43 years. Diane retired from St. Bernard Church in 2013. When not watching the UConn Huskies basketball teams, she was very active in Girl Scouts for over 40 years (leading Troop 54 for over 30 years). She was also a Girl Scout Trainer for many years. She loved camping (especially at Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks), fishing and being out of doors. She also played softball and volleyball for many years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

Besides her husband of 43 years, Thomas, she is survived by her loving children, Tara Remillard and her husband Norman of West Hartford; Brian Ashe and his wife Andrea of Granby and her granddaughters Olivia, Sierra and Michaela Ashe, all of Granby. She is also survived by her father, Jack Michaud of Homestead, Florida; her sister, Linda Ducharme of Vernon, her brothers, Ted and Robert Michaud of Medford, New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Donna Michaud.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rockville General Hospital for their care during her illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery. Relatives and friends may join the family from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Burke Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville.
