Vernon police have issued a statement concerning the early-morning altercation Thursday in Rockville.
An email from Lt. William Meier, public information officer, reads:
“On 8-20-15 at approximately 0300 hours, Vernon Police were called to Orchard St. near Union St. for a motor vehicle accident. Officers responded and determined some type of physical altercation as well as a motor vehicle accident had taken place. This incident involved several people.

Vernon Police personnel have been interviewing witnesses and trying to identify the involved parties this morning. No arrests have been made at this time.
One party suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no update on his condition at this time.
