Vernon Rec Department Fixture Steve Krajewski Retires

VERNON, CT — Steve Krajewski, a fixture in the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department for about four decades, officially retired on Friday.

Mayor Dan Champagne hosted a reception for him at town hall attended by friends, co-workers, town officials, local coaches and members of the community.

Krajewski is a Vernon native and began at the rec department in 1977. He worked his way up the ranks to retire as assistant director and left his biggest mark as the coordinator of the annual fireworks display.
