Vernon Resident Charged With ID Theft Over Cable Bill
She is accused of reopening a former roommate's account, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon resident has been charged with three counts of identity theft for allegedly re-activating a moved-out roommate's cable TV account and racking up hundreds of dollars worth of viewing for herself.
Tracy Dealba, 43, of Thomas Street in Vernon, is due in court on Dec. 5 to answer the charges, police said.
A former roommate filed a complaint in October, according to a warrant. She said at the end of September, she canceled her Comcast account and had a $372 balance sent to her new address, according to a warrant.

In October, he bill came to her with a $710 balance, according to a warrant.
When questioned by police, Dealba allegedly said she could not get her own account because of a previous shutoff and "needed wifi as her medical equipment sends information to her medical providers," according to a warrant.
