Vernon Schools Seek Kindergarteners For New Online Registration
Vernon parents can now register students through the new online system.

VERNON PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEW ONLINE REGISTRATION SEEKS KINDERGARTEN SIGN-UPS
VERNON, CT - This year, registering for school in the Town of Vernon is even more convenient. Parents and legal guardians can register their children in Vernon Public Schools (VPS) for grades kindergarten through 12 using the school’s new online system. Online registration begins by accessing the VPS website at: https://www.vernonpublicschools.org/departments/family-engagement/student-registration, logging in, or creating a user name and password.

Right now, kindergarten registrations are a special focus for Vernon Public Schools. “Our goal has always been to provide residents with convenient ways to help students gain access to quality education. We believe the introduction of our new online registration platform will help all families connect with our schools, especially our incoming kindergarten students. We know involvement in structured early childhood education gives students the maximum opportunity for academic, social, and emotional success,” said Vernon Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Robert Testa.
According to Cynthia Zingler, Vernon Public Schools Director of Family School and Community Partnerships, online registration was planned months ago, and in place since early March in preparation for the upcoming school year. “It’s just one of the many things we do to provide services to our students and their families. Right now, the online option is especially important.”

Students must be Town of Vernon residents and supporting residency verification documents are required. Some of the items needed to complete the school registration process include a long form birth certificate, medical and immunization history, photo identification, and guardianship documents if applicable. The registration website provides a full list of required documents.
