Vernon's Cornerstone Gearing Up For Halloween Boutique
Donations are being taken for the annual Halloween event that offers free costumes for those who cannot affords them.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon-based Cornerstone Foundation Thursday announced it is again conducting a Halloween costume drive for those who cannot afford costumes.
In anticipation of the event, Cornerstone is soliciting donations of new or lightly used costumes and accessories for children and adults.
"We have many classic costumes and are looking for updated and new characters and themes," Cornerstone officials said.

Donations can be dropped off at the Cornerstone Clothing Bank at 3 Prospect St., during the following hours:
- Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Cornerstone Halloween Boutique is set to open its doors on Oct. 12.

"We look forward to unveiling the exciting collection of costumes and accessories that our community has generously contributed. Join us in making this Halloween season a celebration of community spirit. Together, we can ensure that everyone in our community feels the warmth and joy of this festive season," Cornerstone officials said.
Cornerstone is a faith based non-profit organization in Vernon-Rockville, Connecticut, which started in 1982 by Helen Syriac, a local resident and parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Vernon. During the first year, 143 people were sheltered, many of whom were single mothers with children. Since then, Cornerstone has grown to include three shelters, a Community Kitchen, a clothing Bank, a food pantry and a community center.
