Victim Flees Violent Incident In Vernon, Man Charged: Report

A Vernon man spent the weekend in the local lockup on a $50,000 bond after a violent incident, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man spent the weekend in the local lockup on a $50,000 bond after a violent incident at a condominum complex that involved a fleeing resident, police said.

Jonathan Landry, 54, of Vernon, was arrested at 3:39 a.m. He was charged with interfering with an emergency call, second-degree strangualtion, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, according to a report.

He was to appear in court Monday, police said.

The incident began with a 911 call from the Ryefield II complex, according to a report. A resident had run to a neighbor's condo to escape Landry and call police, according to a report.

Landry is accused of choking the victim, pulling hair, punching and taking a cell phone, according to a report. He is also accused with threatening to put the victim "in a grave," according to a police.

According a report, Landry claimed he did not remember the incident.
