Voting Matters

Your precious vote matters. We all have personal, family, spiritual and community issues to handle every day. Coming soon is a vital national and state election that will affect every issue we deal with daily. Early voting begins October 21 and is available through November 3. Each town will designate a location for early voting. Call your Town Clerk or Registrar for the correct location. Election Day is November 5. Check your Early Voting or Election Day voting site and registration status on MyVote.CT.gov or call 860-509-6200. This website has detailed information about the rules and procedures in effect throughout Connecticut. You must be a registered voter to be eligible to cast a vote. Registration deadline is October 18 for mail-in, online and registration at the DMV. In-person registration is available at designated sites up to and including November 5. Absentee Ballot applications became available on October 4 for eligible voters. Emergency Absentee Ballots will be available October 30 to cover an unexpected inability to vote in-person. Be prepared to answer a Ballot Question for all voters: “Shall the Constitution of the State to be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?” Yes or No
