Woman Charged in Vernon Hammer Incident

A fight broke out and a hammer was involved, police said.

VERNON, CT — A 24-year-old Vernon resident is facing four criminal charges after an incident with a hammer, police said.

Shanna Finan was charged with second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful restraint and breach of peace, according to an arrest report.

According to an arrest report, police received several calls about a disturbance at a Prospect Street residence just after midnight on Wednesday. A fight had broken out between Finan and the father of her child, according to an arrest report.

She and a cousin were involved in scratching and threatening the man with a hammer. They were also holding him in the residence against his will, according to an arrest report.
