“I would like to reiterate something that I shared yesterday,” Menzo said on Wednesday. “These cases are not being spread within our schools. They are coming into our buildings from those who attend and work in our district. As of now, we have not experienced spread of the virus within our buildings. We will continue to maintain all of our safety mitigation plans.”

School officials, along with the Wallingford Health Department, conducted contact tracing at Cook Hill and Parker Farms to identify everyone who may have been in close contact with the confirmed cases. Anyone identified as close contacts have been notified by the building administration or the school nurse.

“We continue to proactively monitor illness of students and staff, apply cleaning protocols, and social distancing practices,” Menzo said. “We will continue to review the circumstances of this case and will make any necessary adjustments in our plans.”
