Amazon Proposal Rejected By Wallingford Planning & Zoning
A developer's plan to build a new Amazon facility at the former Bristol-Myers Squibb property in Wallingford has been denied.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A developer’s plan to build a new Amazon distribution center and warehouse at the former Bristol-Myers Squibb property in Wallingford was rejected by the Planning and Zoning Commission in a 3-2 vote on Monday night, according to the Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reported the developer, Montante Construction, was denied a special permit application to redevelop the 180-acre site at 5 Research Parkway and build a 219,000-square-foot, 17-dock Amazon delivery station building and parking lot.
Commissioners cited traffic issues as a major concern in the vote.

Amazon already has two facilities in Wallingford – a sorting center on Research Parkway in Wallingford that opened in 2016 and an 83,000-square-foot delivery center on South Cherry Street.
