Another Wallingford Mayoral Candidate Steps Forward
An unaffiliated businessman has announced he is planning on challenging longtime Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. this November.

Just when it looked like longtime Wallingford Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. would run for a 17th consecutive term unopposed, two potential candidates have stepped forward this week.
First, Michael Citak, a former professional wrestler with experience in business and painting and currently works at Tuxis-Ohr’s Fuel and Oil in Meriden, told the Meriden Record-Journal he is planning on seeking the Democratic Town Committee’s endorsement. The DTC will hold its convention on July 22 when it will endorse a slate of candidates.
Now, an unaffiliated businessman has thrown his hat into the ring.

Donald Kennedy, 70, announced on Wednesday that he has begun collecting the several hundred signatures needed in order to petition to be on the ballot, according to the New Haven Register.
Kennedy told Luther Turmelle of the Register that the tax growth in Wallingford is “out of control” and he will put everything on the table and look at “ways to run the town better, I think we can reduce taxes and keep the same level of service or even improve upon them.”
